《好人赫德》最早于1981年由皇家莎士比亚剧团资助撰写，先后登上西区和百老汇舞台，2008年被改编为电影。剧本聚焦于希特勒崛起并带领德意志民族走向反人类文明的道路上，奉行自由主义的大学教授约翰·赫德不仅加入了纳粹，而且还通过一步步的自我合理化，最终臣服于屠杀犹太人的政策，堪称是英语世界中检视大屠杀历史、剖析人性中平庸之恶的重要文本。

本版复排由曾执导英国国家剧院版《富丽秀》（Follies）的奥利弗获奖导演多米尼克·库克（Dominic Cooke）执导，大卫·田纳特（David Tennant）领衔主演，平实、冷静之下难掩不寒而栗的气息；联袂出演的艾略特·利维（Elliot Levey）和莎朗·斯莫（Sharon Small）承担了其他所有角色，甚至要在男女不同性别间切换，亦是可圈可点。
