First released in 2000, In The Mood For Love tells the tender, bittersweet story of a man (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) and a woman (Maggie Cheung) who discover their spouses are having an affair together. As they grapple with their own loneliness, they slowly form a deep connection that is both restrained and profoundly moving.

Premiering at the Cannes Film Festival, the film received universal acclaim, earning a nomination for the prestigious Palme d’Or and winning Tony Leung the Best Actor award — the first for a Hong Kong actor. The Singapore season will be conducted by homegrown, renowned conductor Joshua Tan, who won the 2nd Prize at the 2008 Dimitri Mitropoulos International Competition.
