云南杨丽萍文化传播有限公司创始人，国家一级演员，中国舞协副主席，著名编导。创作并领衔主演的主要舞台作品有：大型原生态歌舞集《云南映象》、大型原生态歌舞乐《藏谜》、大型衍生态打击乐舞《云南的响声》、大型舞剧《孔雀》。舞蹈《雀之灵》、《两棵树》、《雨丝》、《月光》、《火》、《拉萨河》等。中国家喻户晓的舞蹈家，长期在中国及世界各地巡演。她成为中国大陆第一位赴台湾的舞蹈家。她出访世界许多国家进行艺术交流，相继在新加坡、菲律宾、美国、加拿大、日本、中国台湾等国家和地区举办专场舞蹈晚会。菲律宾国家民间舞蹈协会赠予她终生会员的荣誉。2004年编导并主演的《云南映象》获第四届中国舞蹈“荷花奖”舞蹈诗金奖、最佳女主角奖、最佳编导奖、最佳服装设计奖和优秀表演奖。同年，《云南映象》成功入选国家舞台艺术精品工程10大精品剧目。《云南映象》是民营企业在文化艺术商业市场的典范。从此定点演出4000多场，数年被文化部评为“国家文化产业园基地”。2005年，《云南映象》从美国辛辛那提市开始，拉开了世界巡演的序幕。辛辛那提市市长给杨丽萍颁发了金钥匙，并把《云南映象》在美国的首演日11月16日确定为“云南映象日”。
